BEVIxPlanett has spent the last two years treating singles like tests — a bubblegum pop swing here, a snowstorm ballad there, another song always six weeks out if the last one didn’t land. On October 3 the Columbus artist stops testing. His debut album, Yours, is nine songs about one person, and he is announcing it with the least hedged pitch of his young career: every track points back to the same place. In his words, “I am always hers.”
The first look arrives sooner. Lead single “Classy” drops September 12, 2026, with a music video premiering on YouTube the same day. Pre-saves are live now through DistroKid.

“Classy” comes first
“Classy” is billed as a straight pop record, which by now is less a departure than a direction. When we covered his single “LISA” earlier this year, the question was whether a Columbus artist filed under rap could commit to unapologetic pop. The answer, apparently, is an entire album of it. Most of Yours was written while he was still 17 — he turned 18 in February — and the announcement leans on that: a teenager writing about one person with uncommon focus, and sounding like it.
“Yours is my gift to you,” is how BEVIxPlanett puts it — and the “you” is not the audience.
An album is a different kind of bet
For an artist with his release habits, a unified album is the actual risk. Since 2024, Connor Wheat has shipped singles at a pace most signed acts can’t match — “SELFISH,” “High St. (ANTHEM),” “BAD 4 ME,” “GET IT!,” “one of u,” “This XMAS,” “LISA,” “COLD WINTER” — each one a low-stakes experiment precisely because another was always coming. A nine-song record about a single subject reverses that logic. Instead of many small bets, one big one, with his name for a title bar: the album is called Yours, the cover is plain, and per the announcement both are “simple on purpose.”
He has been signaling this shift all year. In February he told Ohio State’s student paper The Lantern that his first album was coming with roughly ten tracks and a sound drifting toward The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson — a strange reference for a self-described underground rapper, and exactly the right one for a writer trying to make small, sincere pop songs about devotion. The record has now taken final shape: nine songs, October 3. (Completists will note his early self-released album The Beginning from 2023, made when he was 15; Yours is the one he is calling his debut, and the distinction feels earned — this is the first record he has built as a single statement.)
The Columbus run so far
Wheat has been building BEVIxPlanett — and its self-contained universe, Bevi’s Planett — since middle school, when he started uploading music during the COVID-19 pandemic. The breakout was “High St. (ANTHEM),” released April 25, 2025: a hometown record inspired by Dreams on High, a local clothing store, that turned into a genuine Columbus moment and a small movement in support of the city’s small businesses. By early this year he had crossed 31,000 followers and 245,000 likes on TikTok, linked up with Bentley Records for his press kit and artist page, and graduated from Upper Arlington High School bound for Ohio State to study music — a third-generation Buckeye whose parents and grandfather went there before him.
That is the context that makes Yours interesting. The viral hit was about a street. The album is about a person. It is the move from writing songs for a city to writing songs for one listener, made by an artist young enough that both can still be true at once.
