Who is Cozy Eddie?

Cozy Eddie made his first beats in the last week of 2016. Nearly ten years later, his work covers the whole chain of making a record: beatmaking, recording, mixing, mastering and sound design. His production credits include Jaydaz’s “Rio,” Pretty Pape$’s “Vybez,” Jian J’s “Rose From Concrete” and the full album On A Thursday by Cloud9ine Ko. On the engineering side, he mixed and mastered Jian J’s album Growing Pains, plus singles for TommyBoy, TrapBabyg and Underrated Blacc.

The sound is rooted in Los Angeles. His catalog leans into West Coast hip-hop, melodic rap and drill, and his YouTube channel is full of beats built in that lane, with titles that nod to artists like Blxst, OhGeesy and the late Drakeo the Ruler.

How did Cozy Eddie produce “Back 2 Back” for SadBoy Loko?

Cozy Eddie connected with SadBoy Loko through Anesthetic2k. Loko wanted a remake-style beat that carried the feel of “Going Back to Cali,” a record with a recognizable West Coast foundation, while still sounding like his own music. The goal was not to recreate the original but to build a new instrumental that pointed back to it.

The first version was not the last. Cozy Eddie made several revisions, refining the beat around what Loko wanted for the song, until the instrumental had the balance it needed: familiar West Coast bounce, room for Loko’s delivery and enough of its own identity to stand as a new record. “Back 2 Back” came out June 13, 2025, on Make It Out Records, with Travis Margis as engineer. His rule for working with artists comes straight out of that process: the beat is there to support the record, not the other way around.

What is Cozy Production?

Cozy Production started as a place to sell beats and grew into a full creative platform for producers. The catalog now includes loop kits, drum kits, MIDI kits, templates and other production tools, such as the West Coast Builder Kit and a free BPM finder. It also offers beats for artists and sync licensing opportunities. He writes tutorials, production breakdowns and music-industry pieces for the brand’s blog, the Cozy Journal.

Everything in the store comes from the same place as his records. The sounds he designs for kits are the same kind of sounds he uses to build finished songs with artists, which is the point of the brand: tools made by someone who is actually using them on releases.

What does it take to build a music brand independently?

Cozy Eddie built Cozy Production without a label or a big team behind it. Along the way he has had to learn every side of the business at once: production and engineering, product development, web design, marketing, content and community building. His goal is to grow Cozy Production into a trusted place where independent producers and creators can find the tools, education and opportunities to make better records and grow their careers.
