Fearless and Fun: Benedictar Sibanda

Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?

My name is Benedictar Sibanda, 26 years and originally from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. I am a licenced cabin crew member & private investigator. A brand Ambassador for Moyo Beauty. A commercial & fashion model. Aspiring actress, walked the runway for Uberglam Fashion Show 2018. I have been on two reality tv shows in South Africa that have aired on DSTV. I was the cover Model for PPMC Potrait Magazine in 2021 a November Edition. Finalist for being on a YFM (radio) Billboard, l was also a 947 (radio) office hottie for the 2022 calender. I was also featured in the Saturday Star newspaper in 2021. Modelling for me is not just a dream but my passion. I want to show girls that they don’t have to be concious about their looks and body, that being a model takes more than just being a pretty face, that modelling is an expressive art form that tells a statement without words. I believe that the secret to modelling is not being perfect. What one needs is a face that people can identify with in a second. You have to be given whats needed by nature & whats needed is to bring something new. I want to show people that modelling is not just beauty and smile, it takes boldness and style. To think that l exist in this world that was created by so many hands. It makes my heart feel hot. I have never experienced such a comfortable tension.

l live & breath fashion. I love the art of martial arts and l enjoy boxing and reading.

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

I am a FUN,
FRIENDLY
STRONG
FEARLESS
& l enjoy taking risks. I am inspired by LIFE, as clichè as it may sound its true. Life is incredible on any given day, you can write something that blows your mind, you can move across the world or jump out of a plane. The possibilities are endless and to me thats incredible & inspirational.

Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.

The moment l realised l was doing what l was born to do, l was over the moon. Its been a dream come true as what l am doing now is something l have always dreamt of and seeing myself doing that, having to work with some amazing celebrity photographers and stylists just proves to me that if you dream it, you can do it.

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?

My biggest challenge was having people tell me that l would never make it as a professional model because of my height, but l believed in myself and l met some amazing people who believed in me, my parents and siblings as well. Their support reminded me that l can be anything l want and that with God anything is possible. If someone had told me that one day l would be on the cover of a magazine, l would have laughed. But because l did not let people tell me otherwise, l am were l have always wanted to be and still aiming higher. The journey does not end.

Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business?  Why these specific individuals?

Naomi Campell, Mitchell Obama and Tyra Banks. I chose these three women as my Top 3 as l have looked up to them growing up. They are strong and inspirational and their advise and hardworking nature will push me in the right direction.
