Megha is a New York City pop artist who also works as a doctor, and her new single, “Midnight Strikes,” is a disco-pop song about a relationship that will not commit to a direction. It came out October 9, 2026, alongside an official music video. Megha describes it as a song about the kind of stalling that has you asking a chatbot for relationship advice at 1 a.m. She has been road-testing it on the sidewalks of New York for weeks.

Who is Megha?
Megha is a pop artist in Manhattan who, in her own words, moonlights as a doctor, “or the reverse depending on the week.” Her social feeds make that double life the story. One week it is a day-in-the-life clip from residency, joking that night shifts have turned her into a vampire. The next it is a street set in front of a café, a mic in hand, with New Yorkers stopping mid-errand to listen. She has also joked that her bodega guy is her A&R.
She has been releasing music since 2024, starting with the singles “Trend” (August 2024) and “Better Than U” (October 2024). “Never Looking Back” followed in July 2026, and “Midnight Strikes” is her newest.

What is Megha’s “Midnight Strikes” about?
The song lives in the gap between two questions that anyone in a long relationship knows well: “where is this going?” and “when’s the wedding?” Megha’s own description of the song is that it is about refusing to rush love just because the clock is ticking. The Cinderella reference in the title is on purpose. Her teaser for the video put it simply: Cinderella had a deadline too.
Musically it is a little over three minutes of disco-pop, built around a sing-along “la la la” hook. Underneath the sparkle, the lyric is about the pressure of a timeline, from friends, from family and from yourself. In an Instagram post on release day, Megha wrote that she has “so much love for this song” and for the version of herself who wrote it.
Who made “Midnight Strikes”?
Megha wrote the song under her full name, Megha Kusha Chandna. Keenan Copas produced it at Biscuit Head NYC, and Ian Kimmel mastered it. Megha notes Kimmel’s credits with BTS and Mary J. Blige. The music video was directed and edited by Sophia Medley, and it leans fully into the disco theme, with Megha surrounded by mirror balls and silver tinsel.
How did New York hear “Midnight Strikes” first?
On the street. In the weeks before release, Megha posted clip after clip of herself singing the song to passersby around the city, including one where a driver seemed to know the words to a song that had not come out yet. According to Megha, a TikTok clip of her performing the song around New York has passed 116,000 views. For an independent artist, that kind of word of mouth is how a song finds people before it ever hits a playlist.
