Some singers get noticed on stage. Some get noticed on a phone screen at 1 a.m. Mia Hart is getting noticed in both places. She is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Milwaukee, now based in Los Angeles and studying at USC. Over the past year she has been building a following one honest song at a time. Two singles are out, a debut EP is in the works, and in late September she stood on the Bovard Auditorium stage for USC Thornton’s Stevie Wonder tribute.

Who is Mia Hart?
Mia Hart grew up in Milwaukee and moved west to study at USC. Her team describes a path that runs through several American Idol auditions and performances for professional sports franchises. Those are the kinds of rooms where a young singer learns fast to deliver under pressure. Today she writes her own songs, performs with a full band at Los Angeles venues, and shares much of her process online. Her Linktree sums it up in one line: a 21-year-old singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles.

What does Mia Hart’s music sound like?
Her songs are confessional pop. They are built on piano or guitar and sung in a voice that can sit quiet and then open up. Many of the clips she posts are songs in progress, introduced with captions that read like diary entries. Before one, she wrote that it was the most honest thing she had written. Another came out of a living-room session with friends on guitar, and she called it “shell.” A newer clip treats a childhood “pipe dream” about a perfect family as something she finally had to let go.
That candor is the thread through her released work too. “LOVESICK,” her first single, came out July 25, 2025. “LOST MY MIND” followed on February 20, 2026. Both are on Spotify, and both point to the debut EP she is developing now.
What happened at USC’s Stevie Wonder tribute?
On September 24, 2026, USC Thornton School of Music staged Songs in the Key of Life at 50: Reimagined at Bovard Auditorium. The concert marked 50 years of Stevie Wonder’s 1976 album. Longtime Wonder collaborator Greg Phillinganes was musical director, and Thornton Dean Jason King directed. It opened the school’s year-long “Stevie Wonder: Beyond Category” series, with students, faculty, alumni and special guests on the bill.
Mia was one of the students on that stage. Her Instagram reel from the night opens with her reaction to finding out she would be singing for “THE. STEVIE. WONDER.” The next day she wrote, “I will never forget last night,” and thanked USC Thornton, Jason King and Greg Phillinganes. She called the night “a surreal and unforgettable experience.” The reel has passed 23,000 plays, and the comments are full of classmates and fellow musicians cheering her on.

Where can you see Mia Hart perform?
Mia plays regularly with a full band around Los Angeles. Her Linktree has listed shows at Aviator Nation Dreamland in Malibu and at The Mint, one of the city’s long-running live rooms. The best way to catch the next date is to follow her on Instagram and keep an eye on her Linktree, where she posts new releases and show links first.
How big is Mia Hart’s audience?
Her team puts her at more than 1 million total TikTok likes and about 15,000 followers across platforms. Her Instagram has 7,200 followers, and individual clips reach well past that. A late-September cover video has passed 155,000 plays on its own. For an artist with two singles out, it is a real head start, and a sign that people are listening to the songs and not only scrolling past.
What’s next for Mia Hart?
The debut EP is the big one. Between classes at USC, live dates in Los Angeles and a steady stream of new songs posted online, Mia is building the kind of base that turns an EP release into an event. Steven Frankland, a USC music industry student who is working with her on promotion, says her goal is to keep growing her career and connecting with opportunities across the LA music industry.
