Samuel Cubbage: Uplifting Power Couple

Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?

We are Samuel and Bobbie Cubbage. We founded Pandemic Press Publishing in 2020- by CEO’s/Owners Samuel and Bobbie Cubbage, during the COVID 19 Pandemic.

We are a “Power Couple” powered by GOD. ANd so thankful to have the opportunity to do what we love.

Bobbie- I’m a teacher, writer, entrepreneur and certified life coach.
I have two self-published books on Lulu.com. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Communications with an emphasis in Broadcasting from Point Park University. And won the Professor William A. Schmid Jr. Memorial Scholarship. And was a writer for the Point Park College newspaper (The Point); as well as a writer and editor of the Community College of Allegheny County (Boyce campus) newspaper.

I worked for two of the local Gospel radio stations in Pittsburgh, as an on air talent, after graduating from Point Park.

I have books published by www.lulu.com, are called, “A Bedtime Story for Annika”. and a short story called, “I’m Embarrassed To Say, I Was A Gospel Radio D.J”. Bobbie worked as a freelance writer for several of the local newspapers. Including, the Pittsburgh Press, The Post Gazette and the Tribune Review. Bobbie also wrote for a nightlife magazine called Post Meridian.

As a teacher, I taught different age levels writing classes. At the preschool, I taught a class called, “The Budding Author Brigade” (along with two other teachers), to three and four year old children.

Samuel- I’m a credit specialist, entrepreneur and certified life coach. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Studies from Arizona State University. And was the first (out of our group of friends in college), to get a job in the broadcasting field (at two local radio stations), before graduation.
I also landed a job at a local Gospel radio station as a co-host of a teen talk show. I also serve as Marketing and Promotions Director of The CCI Radio Show.

Together, we have published several newsletters over the years:

Revelations Newsletter 2003-2007: focused on religion, music and other events. Distributed to Family Christian Book Stores.

Praise Newsletter- MOBC of Sharpsburg, PA– Co- creators and editors– 2013 to the present. Focus on the church and all events within.

And we are both members of www.voice123.com.

We have a YouTube channel called “The CCI Radio Show” (you can find ALL of our shows there), and two shows (Love Notes w/ Sam C. Smooth, Gospel Excellence w/ Bobbie D.) on www.blogtalkradio.com/ccisbglobal; (you can listen to those shows on all posdcasting platforms). And Summer 2022, we launched our magazine called “Pandemic Press Media Magazine”. All of these projects are under the Pandemic Press Media “umbrella”.

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

We believe that we have the empathy, the power and passion that drives us to create and motivate, not only the things we do; but, others in the process. We love each other, our family and friends, people and the LORD. And we want to make sure that we can increase and extend the Kingdom of GOD, by being an uplifting, power couple; being powered by GOD.

Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.

Bobbie– I knew that I was destined to do this from a VERY young age. I’ve always liked to talk and write…lol! So, I would write every chance I had. I also LOVE to talk. I love to hear people’s stories. And it’s so exciting to me, to have the chance to do it all. And it’s a bonus to do this with my husband.

Samuel– I knew on my first night, working at my first radio station. I said to myself, “WOW! Thisi s REALLY happening.” And the fact that my mentor, was also there, made it a complete bonus. I started etting phone calls on the request line, with all kinds of “Welcome to the station.” And, “You’re doing a great job!”

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?

Our biggest challenge is the lack of support. Sadly, we believe that people we know don’t take our businesses seriously. We’re sure that others with businesses have that same problem with friends, family and aquaintances. Because someone thinks that they know you, they can’t seem to take what we do seriously. It’s rather sad, actually.

Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business?  Why these specific individuals?

1. Angela Bassett- We both love her energy, her poise and spirit. We love how she and Courtney B. Vance have been married for such a long time; and have kept their reltionship out of the spotlight.

2. Dolly Parton- Ms. Parton is not only a legend, but, she embodies a truly giving, GOD-fearing woman. She never seems to want to take the spotlight; she always turns it around. She wants to be seen as a ‘regular person’. She is a philanthropist. It’s a beautiful thing.

3. Vivica Fox- She is such a motivator. She has a such high regards for her family and friends; she is always there. She always has their backs. She really believes in dreams coming true for everyone.
