Who is Casey Conroy?

Casey grew up in Orlando with music in the house. In a 2022 Orlando Weekly profile, she explained that her dad, a musician from Ireland who never pursued it professionally, wrote songs, had her sing them and recorded covers and originals with her in a small home studio. She was playing piano and writing her own songs by 12, and lists Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and Irish folk music among her influences.

She got over stage fright by playing every Orlando stage she could, then released her debut EP, It’s Just Living, in October 2021. The concept came from her dad, who used to tell her and her sisters that “life’s not that serious.” In early 2022 she moved to Southern California, her first time living anywhere but Orlando, and she described handling her own marketing, branding, booking, producing and writing as a “DIY frenzy.”
