Who is Dani Stacy?
Dani Stacy is a singer-songwriter from Hanford, in California’s Central Valley. According to her official bio, she grew up in a musical household on classic singer-songwriters and early-2000s pop and R&B, which is where her mix of “West Coast vibes and classic storytelling” comes from. She started her career in Ventura, playing open mics and joining bands, moved to Los Angeles to release her first single, “Lie to Me,” and later settled in Nashville to sharpen her writing.
Her own description of what she writes: songs “that make you want to dance, cry…or both.”

What happened on The Voice?
Stacy opened the Season 25 premiere of NBC’s The Voice in February 2024 with a slowed-down, acoustic-guitar take on Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.” John Legend turned first. Chance the Rapper blocked Reba McEntire and hit his button. Reba turned anyway, and Dan + Shay made it four, the season’s first four-chair turn, NBC reported. “I think you’re spectacular,” Reba told her. Stacy picked Team Chance, and Hanford’s Business Journal claimed her as a hometown native.
The song kept working long after the episode aired. Her studio version has passed a million Spotify streams, according to her site, and when she posted the cover on TikTok in 2025 she wrote that it “has been the reason so many people discovered me.” That post has 94,600 views. Her advice to other artists: “Just release the cover song guys, it will only help you!”
What music has Dani Stacy released?
She has been releasing steadily since 2019. Highlights from her catalog:
- “Lie to Me” (2020), which her bio calls her first single, released while she lived in Los Angeles.
