Keat puts his priorities right in his bio: “God | Family | Hip-Hop.” On TikTok he has fewer than 400 followers, but he has been rapping a lot longer than his follower count suggests. His Apple Music page lists more than 25 releases going back to 2020, his short videos are packed with multisyllable rhymes about faith, and in one of them his young son tries to wrestle him off the mic halfway through a verse. He just keeps rapping.

Who is Keat?
Keat is an independent rapper and songwriter who releases music through Kayatone Records. His first single on streaming services, “When the Water Rises,” came out in May 2020. Since then he has released a steady stream of singles, two EPs and a long list of features with other artists.
His website opens with one line that explains what he is going for: “My hope is that you walk away with something.” His lyrics back that up. In one short he raps, “Holy Spirit with us it’s a different vibe / Shift the atmosphere with the Word of God / That’s what I’m living by.” In another: “God is my maestro and I know what his name is.” Family is never far from the bars either. “I’m with my wife, that’s why I’m feeling fine,” he raps in the same clip where his son keeps trying to tackle him.

What music has Keat released?
Keat works mostly in singles, released every month or two. A few to start with:
- “Thru It All” (August 2026), his newest single.
- The Realization EP (August 2023), five tracks: “Scared,” “Think Straight,” “Got It All,” “Don’t You” and “Realize.”
- Candy Crush Vol. 2 EP (December 2024), six tracks.
- “SEO” (2021), whose music video is his most viewed on YouTube with more than 21,000 views.
- “Loved Before You Lived (feat. Cordula)” (2020), one of his earliest faith-centered singles.
He also shows up as a guest on other artists’ records, including “Same Team (feat. Merty Shango & Keat),” “Underrated (feat. Keat),” “Hopeless (feat. Keat)” and “Dance Floor Killa (feat. Keat),” and he appeared on the Night Terror Cypher hosted by the rapper ATTAM.

Would you send Keat your story to turn into a song?
What is “If There’s Light, I Wanna See It”?
It is the concept album Keat is working on now, listed on his website as coming soon. He wrote, performed and arranged it, and producer Daniel Shriner produced, engineered and co-arranged it. The detail that stands out: the cover art was made by Keat’s five-year-old son. For an artist whose whole brand is God and family, that is about as on-message as album art gets.
Why does Keat want your story?
This is the part of Keat’s project we haven’t seen many independent rappers try. His website has a Share Your Story page where anyone can send him a story to turn into a song. In his words:
“As a songwriter and storyteller, I’ve always believed that music is a bridge. While I love sharing my own journey, I don’t want all of my songs for my entire life to be only be about me. I want to tell your story, too.”
He asks for anything from a “you had to be there” moment to a heartbreak that changed you or a win you are still celebrating. He says he can’t turn every submission into a song, but he promises to read every one, and he plans to release new music built from the stories people send.
Why we are featuring Keat
Keat has the catalog of an artist with a much bigger following: years of consistent releases, real collaborators, a producer partner and a full concept album in the works. What he doesn’t have yet is the audience. He has about 370 followers on TikTok, 2,700 on Instagram and just over 200 subscribers on YouTube. If his bars land for you, follow him, stream “Thru It All,” and maybe send him your story.
