Actor Ethan Runburg: from Midwest to Hollywood

Please introduce yourself, what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.

Ethan J Runburg is an Actor, newly moved to Los Angeles.

Ethan started acting at the age of 6, appearing in musicals at a summer theatre program at his local high-school, in the south suburbs of Chicago. He would continue performing in these summer shows throughout his high school experience. He then moved on to Illinois State University, starring in shows such as Bent (Max), Godspell (Telly/All Good Gifts), and Yellow Inn (College Student). Ethan graduated with a degree in Theatre (Acting) in May of 2021, and soon after met his now manager, Maxx Maulion, with Kreativ Artists.

Most recently, he will appear in Season Two of Euphoria, as Mick.

Ethan is new to the LA landscape, and welcomes any and all connections with other artists!

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

I genuinely love acting and being able to perform. I come from the Midwest, so I think that gives me a bit of a unique perspective. There is definitely more to me than meets the eye!

Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.

I’ve always dreamt of being an Actor, but the moment it felt real for me was when I had to decide on my major for college. I was struggling between going with my dream of Acting, or going with something more “traditional” in the sciences. Once I figured out that I couldn’t live the rest of my life without Acting, the decision was easy, and the rest is history.

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?

The biggest challenge I’ve faced so far has been moving across the country to a place where I don’t know anybody. It was, and still is daunting at times. It’s an ongoing challenge to overcome, but I’ve met some really great people just by putting myself out there.

If you had to pick the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could take your career (or business) to the next level…who would those 3 people be?

Hmmm… if I could only pick three, I’d have to go with Seth Rogen, Tom Hanks, and Ari Aster.
