Please introduce yourself, what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.
Hello, my name is Joey Gholam and I am an actor based in Orange County/Los Angeles, California.
I decided to become an actor because I’ve been very passionate about it since a young age and I love to act.
It’s what I want most in life and I enjoy living the lives of the characters and telling their stories. I also want to inspire others to get after their dreams as well like I am doing at the moment.

I was born in California, but I’ve lived most of my life in Beirut, Lebanon. I decided to leave my family back in Lebanon and move back to California in order to pursue acting and I’ve been getting after it ever since, it’s what I want most in life.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I believe all actors/actresses in the industry are different and unique in their own ways, but for me, I feel like what makes me different/unique is how I’m willing to take risks as an actor.
Leaving my family in another country in order to pursue acting was definitely a tough decision to make, being away and not being there makes it hard but the risk is worth the reward.
And, so far the journey has been amazing.
I am also very patient, confident, I work hard for my goals and I want to stay consistent.
I feel most alive when I am acting and when I’m on set.
Another quality that makes me unique is my personality, I’m very kind to everyone and I have a really great attitude. I’m very respectful and easy to work with.

Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?
I realized I wanted to become an actor back in high school during a theater class, I used to always want to go up in front of class and act.
It was my favorite class even though I wasn’t very good back then, it made me fall in love with acting.
I also loved to entertain people and used to make my classmates laugh.
After I went to my first audition, I made the best decision in my life and that is becoming an actor.
Since that moment, things have been amazing. I’ve been trying my best to be at every single shoot and putting my name everywhere in order to get more work as an actor and do what I love to do more.
After moving back to California I’ve had the chance to be on set a lot more and I’ve met a lot of great people and have learned a lot just by being on set. However, I’ve also been going to college for acting along with directing as well.
I’ve also been trying to learn more about every aspect of the industry.
Sometimes things are hard, since I’m also working part-time at two jobs, but I just keep on going because acting is my main focus and it’s what I want most in life.
In the end, it’ll all be worth it though.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge I had to face was being away from my family and losing my grandmother in the process.
I was very close to her and not having the chance to spend time with her and say goodbye made things harder for me.
I cried when I heard that she passed away and it was tough to accept it, but the way I overcame it was by knowing that one day we will meet again and she’s in a better place now.
If you had to pick the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could take your career (or business) to the next level…who would those 3 people be?
The top 3 people that I want to meet are Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert DeNiro, and Martin Scorcese.
I’ve been watching their movies all my life and Leonardo DiCaprio is who I am inspired by most as an actor.
Working with Leo, Robert DeNiro and Martin Scorcese would be a dream come true for me. And, that will definitely take my career to the next level.
