My name is VILLAN, what my community of music knows me by. I am 30yrs old and been engineering for 6yrs. I am a inspired, innovative versatile audio engineer. Taking fruit ninja to the keyboard. The faster I work efficiently, the more time for the artist to be more creative.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I can honestly say I generated my own sauce. The Villan sauce! I get it done even before the artist ask to do so. That’s what has kept me in the game. I don’t highlight myself off pride, merely going off peers response to my work.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
When I got the call that I got a west coast Legend on a song I produced & half mixed + efx! When I found out it was THE GAME featured on it. I knew it was then and there. I called it out that I would have a song with the game. When it really happens I was shook. The hairs on the back of my neck arose!
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
Recording an artist named DC2trill who is now co signed by lil yatchy. First time meeting each other. The other engineer was not doing his job effectively. When I got in the chair I was having minor audio difficulties. He started cussing at me, calling me out my name. I took it at the chin and responded, “ hey bro I can’t work with you yapping off about what I’m doing wrong and it’s only been 10mins. Relax ya nerves and I’m get you right. Yes I was pissed off but wasn’t thinking of the now I was thinking of the latter of how that very session is shaping me.
