Please introduce yourself, what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.
My name is Kimberly Barrios, I am from Venezuela, living in London and Greece. I am a model, actress, and entrepreneur. Since I was a kid, I always wanted to be in the entertainment business, I wanted to be an actress. I have participated in soap operas and films, however, I did not want to struggle like many actors and decided to create my business in order to have the time to pursue my career as a full-time actress.
I worked as an Executive Property Developer for a wealthy individual in London, which due to privacy reasons I cannot mention his name, and while working for him I created my own Real Estate portfolio in London, North of England, Venezuela, and Greece.
Today, I am able to pursue my dreams and goals and do what I love. My message is whatever you want to do, take action, be patient and be constant. It’s a long road but whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
Although we are all humans, we are all unique in our own way and in different ways. I am a Latina, a mother, and an entrepreneur. This is my superpower, I started from zero to being a successful entrepreneur. I do not wait for the opportunities to knock at my door – I create them.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?
Since I was a child, I wanted to be an actress. This is nothing new, it’s in me. I just had to postpone it while I was building my business, making a solid financial structure to be able to pursue my dreams and hobbies.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge I have faced is “Postpartum Depression”, the worst thing anyone could go through. Unfortunately, I passed through a very difficult time once my baby was born, not knowing what the problem was and how to approach it, we are always judged as mothers and how we should handle situations like this. I was lucky enough to have great support around me, family and friends helped a lot to overcome this terrible situation.
If you had to pick the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could take your career (or business) to the next level…who would those 3 people be?
Robert Kiyosaki – Author of Rich Dad Poor Dad. Although I do not personally know him, thanks to him and his teachings, I am the person I am today. Meryl Streep. My Parents – I wouldn’t be the person I am today without their support and teachings. So if I have to choose again in my life I would want them to be there for me all over again.
