Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
An immigrant-latino boy who has reached the high levels of academia and corporate America who is taking a leap and now pursuing his ultimate dream – the arts.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I’m a classically-trained ballet dancer, who is about to finish his army career, works at Google and is now pursuing acting, writing and dancing as his true passion.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
It was Thursday night, in a small and sweaty black box theatre. The spotlight turned on and there was my small sister with her teddy bear. I approached from the darkness and kneeled next to her. I spoke to her but she couldn’t hear or see me – I was dead. Or at least, my character was dead. I apologized to her for intentionally leaving this world but said I wish I could take it back if it meant I could be with her. As the scene went on, I heard the crowd sniffle and weep. It was then I realized I moved hearts that night & thats what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, move mountains and hearts.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
My hardest challenge has been my mental battles. I struggle with mild clinical depression and cycles of manic and depressive episodes. This has lead to long periods of healthy isolation and struggling in silence. It wasn’t until I was more transparent about my struggles that I started to get more control and empowerment. While I still struggle and it affects every area of my life, I’m pushing through day by day.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
Johnny Depp, Serena Williams, Beyoncé
