Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
The world may know me as Kev Chino’. To me I’m just the living proof that dreams can come a long way and you can overcome any obstacle life throws your way. I’m an aspiring actor, writer, digital creator, fashion model and designer from Baltimore, Maryland. Based in the United States. So many people see me as a “Jack Of All Trades” because there is literally nothing that I can’t do. I want to spread love, peace, support and inspire at least 1 million people before I leave this earth.
I want my work to speak for itself. Screaming “You can do it” to any and everyone that needs to feel those words. There’s a different crowd for much of my public works. VEGA paved the way for me to express myself through one-of-one fashion pieces, while other brands I’ve launched such as the Kev Chino’ Museum of Art, WAVR Mag, There There and NFT Lnc. help bring our world closer while sharing my ultimate vision. Love for every human being. We’ll get there!
Outside of my business mindset, you may find quite a few funny memes, comical videos, singular music, political talks, heartfelt photography, poetry, books I’ve written…and the list just goes on and on and on. I’ve also collaborated with brands such as Endel Sound, Goodnight Mate, T-Mobile, Toniiq, Menaji Skincare, Goat Fuel Energy Drink and more.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
Wow, there’s literally an unlimited amount of qualities that make me different and unique from virtually everyone else in my industry. But, I’ll share a fun two. I am a self minded person. Not many individuals in my industry can go within when creating their next production instead of focusing on the next person. I try to always draw my ideas from my own intuition. Everything else is either mere influence or personal speculation. Another quality I possess is the ability to not limit myself to just one talent or realm. I do it all! If it is the act of creating, expressing, envisioning or saving our planet, I’m all for it!
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
The very moment I realized that I was doing what I was born to do is when I was told for the very first time back as early as 2008 by a random Myspace friend, that I inspired them to do greater. This person was a teen attending middle school and at the time was going through a stage of depression and dark life traumas. They reached out to me via my Myspace account and told me that they were a fan of my digital content for years in secret. It literally felt like a breath of fresh air knowing that me doing what I love helps to inspire others to go out and chase their dreams. Since then I continue to motivate the youth and pave the way for the next era of millennials. Whether art, fashion, design, technology, photography, architecture and so much more…I live for this!
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
One of the biggest challenges that I had to go through as a creator is staying true to myself and believing in my own vision. Learning how to ignore the negative side of the internet. At times it gets easy to become wrapped up in the moment, instead of focusing on the future. Times change and trends are like a revolving door. I make it my mission to not only stay relevant, but also to continue leaving my legacy and showcase my art and creations to the world. That’s errryday, Haha!
I’m growing through this! It’s a constant obstacle but I manage to keep myself in my ‘Safe Haven’. Also known as this complex mind of mine. It also helps me greatly having such ‘Go Hard’ supporters from all across the globe and a unique tight niche audience.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
My top 3 people that I would want to meet that could possibly help elevate my career even further as a creative director and push my business ventures would be Elon Musk, Daniel Kaluuya and Jordan Peele. I chose these specific individuals because of their unique knack for changing the world for the greater good and inspiring our generation to be true to your own individuality. These individuals are also creative visual geniuses just like myself. So of course I can totally relate to their journey of having a powerful vision and not stopping until the whole world sees it.
