Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
Hey there! My name is Kathryn Florek I got by Kat, I am from Zion, Illinois a suburb of Chicago. I’m a former reality tv star who was on season 14 of the Bad Girls Club which took place in 2015. Since then, This reality show opened tons of doors for me, I continued the road in film industry and became a Chicago based actress taking on numerous commercials and independent films and tv shows. I currently now work as a screen writer with a few of my scripts that have been brought to life, in the future I dream of starting up my very own production company. Not only that but I am a member of the LGBTIQ+ community and I worked as a host and Emcee for pride events all over the US. I love working out and staying active. I am very driven and also very humble by my opportunities and blessings.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I believe majority of my success has been my ability to talk to WHOEVER it may be and my positive energy tends to attract people towards me, I enjoy meeting new people in the industry and making connections.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
I always knew I was a LITTLE different than others. I have always had such a unique imagination especially at a young age. I loved creating stories. It was only until Ruben Ramirez who is the own of starpower film company took a chance on me and loved my twisted and dark writing, he showed me that I had a unique gift in story telling.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
After filming the Bad Girls Club is very hard for me to come back into the real world. I was struggling to avoid negative responses to the show because I was very curious as to what people would think or say. It took a few years for me to learn that no matter what you do or what you say there are just some people out there who will not or do not like you and they have their reasons. This is something I’ve had to learn slowly but I’m happy I went through it, because it’s a humbling experience.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
Oh my I would LOVE to work with Rob zombie I have always been a huge fan of his movies and work as a director, Also I would love to work with Quentin Tarantino, I love his writing and his directing and I sense ALOT of my work has been inspired by these 2 men. Also, I would love to work with Either Elizabeth Banks, Tina Fay or Amy Pohler. These women are HILARIOUS and such an inspiration to me.
