Please introduce yourself, what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.

My name is Sharrie Mccain. I am an actress, writer, and producer from Baltimore, MD.

New York is like a second home to me. LA and ATL are places I would love to be in for business.

I love acting because it allows me to be free and explore stories. I love producing because I can see over the projects and keep everyone safe.

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

I can write scripts with so many plot twists.

That helps me out when I’m auditioning because I can improv different takes while sticking to the script. That’s something I mastered.

I learn how to cry on cue once a week. I am able to adapt quickly to any role I take on. I study each set.

I bring that back when I’m a filmmaker or producing a project.

Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?

I started doing theatre in 2004. I did it for 12 years.

Since 2013, I have only done tv and films. I got back to the theatre when the time was right.

I take the craft seriously and study the business side. I had to learn how to master the business side in order to survive in the industry.

I love what I do and have fun doing it. I’m an actress and filmmaker.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge I had to face in the industry is learning to trust.

I love helping people but sometimes it’s hard to see some people for who they are. So I’m learning not to be taken advantage of.

I had to stand up for each choice I made in my career.

I follow my own path.
