Please introduce yourself, what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.
I am Phoenix Sohl and I’m a recording artist, stage performer, and songwriter from Atlanta, Ga. With a background in acting, I use my voice and dance to tell melodic stories and paint pictures of the human experience.
My mission is to inspire people to more fully express themselves, lighten up and just bring light into the world.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
A lot of my performance work is grounded in studying Jungian Psychology. I study the personalities of a character and fully express my voice through that character’s perspective and feelings.
What do “they” need to say to the people?
How can I deliver “their” story?
It honestly took me a while to grasp that I’m really an actor that sings.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?
I’ve had a reoccurring dream since I was three of me on stage. The spotlight is glaring and it’s insanely hot. & I’m standing there amongst thousands of people looking at me from above. I see that dream frequently.
So I’ve always known what I wanted to do. And I don’t know that I’ve never told anyone about that dream until now. It’s been a reoccurring vision that drives me to keep going.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge I’ve faced has been mastering my mind and emotions in life. Not allowing negativity and doubt into my energy space.
The entertainment industry is beast mode and you have to be a very strong person to be in your greatness and handle what comes your way. This is heightened as a woman of color.
Strong isn’t just physical to me, it’s mental and spiritual. So I overcome every day by continuing to study, stay in positive environments, and give thanks to God for greatness within and around me. It’s on and off the stage.
If you had to pick the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could take your career (or business) to the next level…who would those 3 people be?
