Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
Hi! I’m Joe Barlam! Actor, Producer and Writer. I love just creating and telling stories and becoming a character in them. I’ve been Acting for the past 20 years. (I get ALOT of Cop roles, lol) I feel the best when I am on set and working with talented people.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I have 50 years of life experience to bring to set. I am a team player, smart, thoughtful, caring, loving and my mom says I’m a good listener!
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
The moment when I realized I was doing what I was born to do was when I was in Acting class and DIDN’T want to go home. Then getting on set just capped my feeling of delight.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
The biggest challenge I’ve had to go through and how I got through it was moving to LA from Philadelphia in regards to the Acting world and Hollywood. Moving to a town where there are hundreds of people tring to do the same thing you are with only 1 position to hire. I overcame this by stepping up my game by taking specific classes, learning all about the industry I can and surrounding myself with talented people already in and up and coming. Giving me opportunities I couldn’t of recieved on my own.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
1. Zach Snyder (Dir). I love the “realism” and over all style of his movies.
2. Any Agent from the top 3 Agencies in the business. They would give me the top auditions and or the ability to hire me direct.
3. Conan O’Brian: I always want to be a guest on his show. And because he is a funny guy.
