Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
What’s up, my name is JJ Whyte, I’m an actor. Acting has been a passion for me for a while now, you can say I fell in love with acting back in 3rd grade when I did my first play. From there, it’s skyrocketed, and every day I’m doing something that I love and enjoy.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I think what puts me above people in the industry is my drive, some people when you look into their eyes while doing something they love know that this is something that they live for, have a certain demeanor toward them. I’d say I have those qualities as acting isn’t just a job for me, or a hobby, I see it as an extension of myself, a creative outlet.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
I would have to say that when I really realized what I was doing is something that I was born to do would have to be “Laff Mobb Laff Tracks.” it was my first real experience on a bigger production, and I was nervous at the time, going on set, it wasn’t just small group of people I didn’t know, it was a big group. Just stepping on that football field, walking over to the gym that they had the actors staying at, and just talking to the people, and the set teacher just really made me realize that even for the short amount of time you’re on set, you create bonds and memories that will last a lifetime. Being able to meet people, and learn just have that enjoyment of filming was great.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
The biggest challenge I would say for acting was creating an authentic character, at first, I always felt dumb the situation didn’t feel real. How I overcame this is I learned from my acting coach, to bring in situations from your real life, and use them in contrast with the character, to create the most authentic feeling within the character.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business?
I would have to say three people I would like to meet are Kevin Feige, Jon Favreau and Steven Spielberg. The reason why I would go with Kevin Feige and Jon Favreau is because I’m a huge superhero buff and seeing their work within the MCU and Jon Favreau’s work in Star Wars two franchises that I’ve loved since a kid those are people that I would love to talk to. Steven Spielberg has also been a person that I’ve watched growing up and have really admired his work in film. These are people that I would say are game-changers, usually when you see their name within a film or you know that they’re one of the people behind the film you know that you’re in for a good show.
