Hey there, Ted Lasso fans!
We’ve got some exciting news for you – season three of the Emmy-winning comedy is set to premiere this spring! And to get us even more excited, Apple TV+ has released the first image from the upcoming season (check it out above).
But, as you may have heard, there’s been some speculation about whether this will be the show’s final season. The creators, Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, had originally pitched the series with a three-season arc. Lawrence even said on a podcast that “this story is going to be over [in season three], regardless, even if the show finds another story to tell and goes on.”
However, it’s worth noting that the cast recently signed new deals with options for future seasons, and let’s be real – who wouldn’t want more of Ted and the AFC Richmond team? Plus, the show has been a huge success for Apple TV+, winning the past two Emmys for best comedy series and breaking into Nielsen’s weekly top 10 streaming charts.
As for what’s in store for us in season three, the first photo hints at unresolved tensions between Ted and Nate, who left AFC Richmond at the end of season two. It shows them meeting at West Ham United, with Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head) looming in the background.
We can’t wait to see how the story unfolds and if there’s more Ted Lasso in our future. In the meantime, mark your calendars for the spring premiere and let’s all hope for the best!
xoxo,
Your friendly neighborhood Ted Lasso fan.
