I am a Visual artist from Los Angeles. Photographer | Creative Director
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
My studios are the streets of Los Angeles where I mostly shoot contemporary street photography covering historical LA landmarks & people.
However, It’s my vintage conceptual shoots that I’m known for and feel my unique style in terms of realism, lighting, color grading, down to particular subjects and locations which has not been done in the manner that I do it.
In short, I’m unconventional with flavor!
Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?Â
Over a decade ago, It was my mother (RIP) who I knew would give it to me straight. She loved my work and encouraged me to soar high with eagles. I stopped being a hobbyist & worked on developing my artistry emerging as a creative visual artist ever since.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?
I feel the spotlight for influential Chicano photographers are often absent these days in stories with big media. If they do feature someone it’s the same people. It’s time for change!
I keep pushing and hopefully soon will coordinate curating a future art show to invite some of the artist I believe deserve the spotlight.
I held “LA Confidential” with my brother Jose in LA pre-pandemic and it was success.
If you had to pick the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could take your career (or business) to the next level…who would those 3 people be?
Not exactly sure. Maybe, the heads of the Publicity departments for Warner Brothers, Columbia Pictures, Capitol Records, etc.
