Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
My name is Antrevious Monroe, aka “Kid Kupid” on most of my platforms. I am a social media influencer with over 1,000,000 on my TikTok account, 18,000 on my Instagram, and 5,000+ on YouTube.
Most of my content is mainly about relationship advice, which is how I discovered the name “Kid Kupid”. it wasn’t something I intentionally wanted to do at first, but one day, I constructed a video about “how to get your crush attracted to you” and it blew up, leading many new supporters to my Instagram DM’ing me for advice.
I then kept making more videos like that and consistently went viral. Although these statistics were good and all, being able to impact so many lives and create SO MANY new relationships is my favorite part about this! I feel like this talent was God-given because I’m now just starting to read more books on psychology and attraction, etc.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I feel like what separates me and most creators is that I actually care about my support system. it’s very rare I’ll ever slip up and call the people that watch me every day my “fans” because we’re all equal.
I try to respond to messages as often as possible when someone is just asking for advice or needs someone to talk to because I remember when I was in that same position and how I felt when I didn’t have anyone. I love taking feedback, often of the time, I’ll try out new styles of content to see what my supporters like the best.
One day I eventually want to do a meet and greet, I kind of launched similar things in the past like movie nights in my discord servers or video game lobbies.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
So boom, one day (this was like in 2019), I was a freshman in high school on my basketball team, not the most fortunate either. Back then I was struggling with a lot from not really being stable within my mindset, to trying to adjust to high school, and personal at-home things as well.
Anyways, Tiktok was just starting to trend around this time when creators like Charlie D’Melio and Noah Beck began to blow up. All my teammates were doing videos and I wanted to join in on the activity, but the only counterpart to that was, I had an android. Nobody believed that I could gain supporters or even an ounce amount of attention with a phone that had the same resolution as a POTATO!
It was rough at first, but I kept trying, and eventually, a video blew up. 300,000+ views on my little ole android, this was the moment where I knew that anything is possible. I kept grinding and eventually I upgraded quality, gained over 30,000 supporters, and created a passion that I never knew was there before.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
My personal biggest challenge had to be battling depression over the summer of 2020, this was when COVID-19 first started to hit and everyone was quarantined. I had just gone through my first official heartbreak and I had no one to really talk to so I kind of just felt isolated.
It steered me away from my career path and took a HUGE toll on my health. Eventually, I overcame it through and beat the odds of what looked like a never-returning type of situation.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
My TOP 3 people I would love to meet are definitely Duke Dennis, Vinnie Hacker, and Kervo Dolo.
These 3 would elevate my career in the 3 ways I need it to; streaming, worldwide entertainment, and comedy.
