BEACHLIFE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES DAOU SIDESTAGE EXPERIENCE

Southern California’s premier live music, art, and culinary event BEACHLIFE FESTIVAL, taking place May 5-7, 2023 on the picturesque waterfront in Redondo Beach, CA, is announcing the exciting line-up for the DAOU SideStage Experience, which will bring an exclusive festival dining experience directly to BeachLife’s Main Stage.

“At DAOU, we believe that a life well lived is created through connection. We seek to curate experiences that celebrate life through the lens of wine.

Based in SoCal, an area where we have many DAOU supporters who we hold dear to our hearts, the Beachlife Festival is the perfect expression of art, music, culinary, and wine that speaks to our core values. We are thrilled to be a part of it.” says Neb Lukic, President, DAOU Family Estates.

BeachLife has carefully handpicked a select number of amazing chefs to create a culinary “setlist” alongside some of the best bands at the festival. Each day will celebrate a guest chef with BeachLife’s Corporate Chef Jacob Ramos assisting in execution of three seatings (100 covers per seating).

Over the last few years, the SideStage experience has compiled an impressive list of alumni: Michael Cimarusti, David LeFevre, Tin Vuong, Ray Hayashi, Brendan Collins, and Kevin Meehan.

This year, the experience will feature six chefs: on Friday, May 5 Chef Josiah Citrin; on Saturday, May 6 Chef Antonia Lofaso; on Sunday, May 7 Chefs Max & Lijo of Camphor; and for brunch on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7 Chef Stephanie Boswell & Chef Jacob Ramos.

FRIDAY, MAY 5

The Black Keys, Pixies, Kurt Vile

Josiah Citrin is a culinary expert and veteran of Los Angeles’s gourmet dining scene, with more than 30 years of experience. He is chef and owner of Santa Monica, California’s Mélisse Restaurant.

In December of 2019, Chef Citrin reopened the reimagined Mélisse restaurant as two distinct concepts- Citrin, an ala carte dining experience that earned one Michelin Star in 2022, and Mélisse, a 14-seat tasting menu, which won two Michelin Stars in 2021 and 2022.

SATURDAY, MAY 6

Gwen Stefani, Band of Horses, DISPATCH

Chef Antonia Lofaso is the Executive Chef and Owner of three acclaimed Los Angeles restaurants – Black Market Liquor Bar (Studio City, California), Scopa Italian Roots (Venice, California), and DAMA (Downtown Los Angeles, California). Though diverse in cuisine and style, each of her restaurants combine deep-rooted, personal culinary traditions with the influence of her globetrotting adventures and formal French training.

Antonia is widely recognized for her role as host of Food Network’s The Julia Child Challenge and Beachside Brawl as well as recurring roles on Guys Grocery Games, Tournament of Champions, and Supermarket Stakeout, to name just a few, as well as Bravo’s Top Chef and CNBC’s Restaurant Startup.

In addition to her thriving restaurant businesses and television career, Antonia is also an entrepreneur whose line, Chefletics, has redefined the traditional fit and function of kitchen apparel.

SUNDAY, MAY 7

The Black Crowes, CAAMP, Noah Cyrus

Camphor is here to reinvent the modern dining experience in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. The simple yet complex menu, which won its first Michelin star in 2022, pays homage to the chefs Max Boonthanakit and Lijo George’s South Asian and French culinary training.

“Our goal with Camphor is to re-imagine familiar food we know and love in a simple yet elevated way. It was important to showcase both Lijo and my own background through the dishes we create together and find a harmonious balance between keeping the menu unassumingly classic, while at the same time re-imagining it with unique presentations and subtle spices for brighter flavors,” says Boonthanakit.

BRUNCH

SATURDAY, MAY 6

Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds + Sugar Ray

SUNDAY, MAY 7

Trampled By Turtles

Stephanie Boswell is an internationally acclaimed pastry chef, television personality, and tastemaker. She currently has four series on Food Network, “Spring Baking Championship,” “Holiday Baking Championship,” “Halloween Baking Championship,” and is the host of “Bake or Break!”

Chef Jacob Ramos is the executive chef for BeachLife Festival, California Surf Club and curates the lineup for the DAOU SideStage Experience.

Pouring wine all weekend will be DAOU Ambassador and VP of Hospitality at DAOU Vineyard, Marino Monferrato.

Marino Monferrato, the Vice President of Hospitality Operations at DAOU Family Estates and the beloved Maitre d’ from Hell’s Kitchen since season 13, will be bringing the DAOU wines to life on the DAOU Sidestage.

About BeachLife Festival:

BeachLife Festival debuted in 2019 and is Southern California’s premier multi-day live music, art, and culinary experience, held on the beach in the South Bay of Los Angeles County.

We were lucky enough to grow up in Southern California on the beach, surfing, hanging out with sand between our toes, vibing with friends and living the beach life. Our culture celebrates the power and the beauty of the ocean and coastal resources — our waves, wind, smell of sea salt, beaches, sand, and wildlife that call this their home.

BeachLife Festival features music acts on four stages, DAOU SideStage high-end dining with well-known celebrity chefs, a silent auction benefiting BeachLife’s primary charities, and multiple surf and skateboarding components. BeachLife Festival was co-founded by Allen Sanford and Rob Lissner, along with Brand Director and SpeakEasy Stage curator Jim Lindberg (Pennywise / solo artist / author).
