Cat Ce Is Taking Los Angeles’s Comedy Scene By Storm

Please introduce yourself, what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.

Cat is a Chinese-American LA-based actress, comedian, writer, and filmmaker.

She’s been in the film/TV industry for over a decade, worked on various projects, including Apple’s global commercial campaign, and guest-starred on several TV shows and films.

She co-created a web series called Start down with Emmy-winning producer, it’s on streaming service now. Cat is also in the development of a multi-racial half-hour comedy TV series currently and an advocate of the New Hollywood movement.

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

Cat Ce believes that comedy is needed in the world right now to bring light to the darkness that we’ve all suffered from the hardships of COVID, the lock-down, divisiveness, and financial adversities.

Comedy allows Los Angelenos to laugh their troubles away while having a good time at a Cat Ce show.

She is also a strong supporter of various animal welfare and environmental groups.

Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?

I realized that I want to be an artist the day when my mother sent me to study dance. I fell in love with performing arts right away.

Luckily I’ve been doing what I’ve been passionate about since that day.

Performing arts for me means any kind of art form such as dance, acting, comedy… that form that you can create to illuminate the lives of others.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?

Being an artist is a struggle, as a phrase, we all describe a lot as “struggling artist”.

The biggest challenge is always to pursue this career as a full-time job, which means you can make a living by doing this. I think this is a challenge for the majority of artists.

So you need that fire beneath you keep pushing, creating, and working hard to overcome the cliche of “struggling artist”.

If you had to pick the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could take your career (or business) to the next level…who would those 3 people be?
