Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
My name is Ciro Ayala. I’m a multiple Award-Winning Filmmaker, Producer, and NFT Artist.
I have been working in the Worldwide entertainment industry since 2008, directing and producing music videos for famous EDM artists such as Paul Oakenfold and Armin van Buuren. In 2020, I decided to start producing my own NFT art and films, after working in crypto art for several private clients.
I believe that NFTs are the future of Art, by mixing the latest advances in technology, creativity, and economics.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
Born and raised Buddhist, I began creating art at 4 years old by doing 3D perspective drawings. My point of view about the nature of reality and the search for truth is very noticeable in all my works.
As self-taught, I learned how to make use of the most advanced tools in the entertainment industry to express my vision about the World and Universe.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
It happened after finishing watching “2001: A Space Odyssey” when 24 years old… Suddenly, that movie made me confident about following my path as an artist in this lifetime. Before then, I always received bad connotations from outsiders about what being an artist would entail.
However, I found out that there is a middle path between Art and Commercial Entertainment, where both can be mixed without losing any benefits from each of them, and without affecting the perception of the audience in a bad manner.
When Art reaches a broad audience, it transcends Time and Traditions.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
When the COVID-19 Pandemic started, I didn’t know if I was going to be able to survive it or how bad it would affect my career. Those were times of real stress and anxiety.
I decided to use an old production technique for Remote Working, which saved my workflow by keep producing music videos and commercials for Worldwide clients, without the need to be “in-site” for recording their performances.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
- Steven Spielberg: His work and career were my inspiration to become a filmmaker from early age.
- Mark Romanek: He inspired me to become a Music Video Director, and understand the power of aesthetics and visuals in an audio-visual art form.
- Alex Proyas: His dark and original films and stories made me approach Sci-Fi and Gothic art since 12 years old age.
