Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
I am a director, producer, editor, cinematographer, and musician. I am one of the owners of Redeyetv Productions.
As stated above I produce, direct, shoot and edit high-quality music videos and films. I have worked with known individuals and top companies such as Disney, Warner Bros, and Paramount.
I love creating content and entertaining people around the world. It has always been my dream and goal to use my creativity to entertain since I was 10 years old.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I study television shows and movies on a daily. It’s my job. So I have a big imagination for storytelling.
I also know what I’m capable of doing and if I can’t do it I know exactly who can. I am also a musician so when it comes to music videos I know exactly what the artist is looking for.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
When it comes to being a musician, the first time I knew I was born to make music and share it with the world was my first performance.
Growing up in Coachella, CA, and getting hired to perform in San Bernardino, CA was a big deal for me. I was performing in front of hundreds and it was getting televised. My heart was pounding so fast once my name was mentioned. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and gave it all I got. The cheering and screaming after my performance was the reason I kept going with it.
The first time I realized I was born for filmmaking was the first time I wrote a screenplay for one of my own music videos. At that time I didn’t know much about the filmmaking process. So I had to hire someone with expertise. The ending product of how my screenplay got adapted and came out just how I imagined was the starting point of my new career.
Since then, I studied hard and practiced daily to try and be one of the best. Now I have done over a thousand music videos in two years.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
Being in the music and the film industry has a lot of challenges. Both require money to make money. I wasn’t born into a rich family. So buying all the gear or booking recording sessions took a lot of time of hard work.
Since I didn’t have a lot of content with film to show potential clients I had to start of shooting for free. Once people started seeing what I could do that’s when the money started coming in. Once the money started coming in I was able to buy new and better gear.
Also, in these industries, you have to learn that you can’t please everyone. Art is subjective and there’s always going to be people who don’t like your art. So I had to learn to ignore the negativity and keep doing it for those who do enjoy my art.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
I would like to meet Edgar Esteves. I feel he’s one of the best music video directors in the game at the moment.
I would like to meet Jessy Terrero. He’s another top director who has been doing it for a long time.
Finally, I would like to meet the team behind Icon Music. I really like the hits these guys be making.
