“I Was Born Dope”: Get to Know the Powerful Story of Robert Randle

Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?

Bobby Zepplin is a Staten Island native with an elite story-telling and powerful command of beats and tunes that turn the ears of hip-hop enthusiasts to him. This artist incorporates his life experiences in every song that he makes, leaving fans with music that is full of substance and lessons. Orphaned and moved from family member to family member as a little boy, Bobby learned the realities of life at such a young age. Witnessing how challenging life can be, Bobby turned to music for comfort and took refuge from famous artists that he looks up to. He knew he was special and that one day he will be among one of the greats but all he needed is a chance to prove himself in an industry that he knows too well. He armed himself with music and used it to tell a story in hopes of inspiring others. His message is for people to search outside of their own heartbreaks and tragedies to find the same peace and love that he has. This peace and love came from his faith in God, whom he attributes for the light that he has. A star can’t shine without a light in it and Bobby Zepplin’s new project called “On God!” is a manifestation of that universal truth. “On God! As it’s shouted in the Hook in a no traditional call and response fashion is a Cry out for help! Asking my God to carry my burdens of Childhood trauma, PTSD, Abuse. Wanting to break down walls of shame brick by brick, these upcoming projects are all bricks or a toxic wall I built around myself. Let’s break it down.” He is now reaping the fruits of his hard work and he is not finished planting seeds of his artworks in the industry. Soon, we will see him higher and stronger, rooted in his love for music and people. He is a passionate, unique, and electric artist that people should look out for this 2022.

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

Some may think I wasn’t suppose to be here because I was birthday by a mother that was Addicted to Crack Cocaine. It was to be believed that I was conceived in exchange for drugs. I believe I was literally Born “Dope” get it?… never mind. All my life the odds was stacked against me I also had to pushed harder than other to even the playing field. This is why I’m no afraid of the obstacles that come my way. “I was Born Dope and you can’t take that away”

Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.

The day I knew I was born to entertain was when I was Dj’n in high school this was in NYC the “ Get Lite Era” it was a crowd of about 2500 kids in the party the power cut off and the Music Stops! I failed to panic and immediately improved and controlled the crowd with a hand clap beat shouting “ NO MUSIC CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP NO MUSIC “ for 5 mins straight the room went wild dancing and chanting “No MUSIC”

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?

My biggest challenge was Being kicked out of my aunts house at 18 years old because I didn’t wanna go to traditional college. I wanted to pursue music at the Institute of audio research in New York I had no one to cosign a Loan and I was unable to go. Being homeless living from coach to coach even sleeping in my 96 ford explore. The one thing that helped me make it out was My DJ’n skills and The Browne Family that took me and helped me get on my feet.
