Savanna Leigh Believes That Her Art Is What Sets Her Apart

Please introduce yourself, what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.

I am a Nashville based singer-songwriter and model. I am originally from Tampa, Florida and I moved to Nashville when I was 18 to pursue music full time. I make music because it’s my passion, it’s all I’ve wanted to do since I was a little kid.. the feeling I get from performing or creating art that I’m proud of is unmatched.

I want people to know music is my way of understanding my own thoughts and feelings. I wanna make music that speaks to people, that makes a difference in their life, that makes them feel less alone, the way other people’s music has done for me my whole life.

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

What makes me different and unique is the simple fact that I make music that is authentic to me.. my own thoughts, experiences, feelings, point of view etc.

That alone makes me special. That goes for any creative person. Your art is YOUR art and that is what sets you apart.

Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?

I grew up around music all my life. My dad was a touring/recording country artist from when I was born till about when I was 6 years old. His mom (my grandma) owned a successful theatre production out of Georgia for years and I was put on stage in acting and singing lessons from a really young age.

I realized I wanted to do this for the rest of my life at a really young age, I began singing as soon as I started talking. Singing with my sister, in school, at my dad’s shows, in theatre, etc. I’ve never looked back, never changed my mind.

Since that moment I’ve just always felt like I had a purpose that I was chasing the right path.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?

Pursuing any career path is a challenge I feel like especially a career in the arts. I feel I’ve over come a lot, but I’d say the biggest challenge was going off on my own to pursue music as a solo artist the same year that COVID hit in 2020. Prior to doing music as a solo artist I was in a duo with my sister and we had been singing together all our lives.

But we decided in late 2019 to pursue music professionally separately on our own. That was a huge and scary change at the time, going from singing together all our lives to figuring out who I was as a solo artist, and what I wanted to say to the world.

On top of COVID hitting and leaving college all at the same time, trying to navigate life during that time on top of a new path for myself musically. I overcame it by just using all the time I had to be as productive as possible.. writing countless songs, using social media and the time I had for content to my advantage, spent a lot of time reflecting on who I was, and who I wanted to be, and what I wanted my career to look like in a year.

I stayed thinking forward and trusting in God’s plan for me.

If you had to pick the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could take your career (or business) to the next level…who would those 3 people be?

– a major record label who genuinely believes in me and my music
– head of warner chappell publishing
– Gary Vaynerchuk
