Singer Aisha Noel Shares How She Incorporates Her Trinidadian Roots Into Her Music

Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?

I’m a Trinidadian Singer, Songwriter, and Performer. My genres include a fusion of soca, pop, and afro beats.

I’ve released six songs to date and have co-written for artists including but not limited to Machel Montano. My aim is to take soca internationally and to continue creating by writing for artists around the world.

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

My music is a blend of flavors from my island together with mainstream sounds to make something that is uniquely Aisha. I’m dedicated to my craft with a strong work ethic that is undoubtedly going to take me far in my career.

Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.

I was in Colombia singing in schools as part of the volunteer work I was doing in the country. The feedback was incredible and as I continued writing any moment I could, on trains, buses, rooftops.

It felt the most comfortable, calming, and brought me the most joy. After that moment I knew I couldn’t stop.

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?

My biggest challenge was managing my own expectations.

I had this grand idea of how I wanted things to work out. Sort of immediately really. But it wasn’t like that when I first started pursuing music. It took a lot of hours, hard work, there was no one to save me.

I realized I had to pull myself up and do the work, even if no one was there to cheer me on. I didnt even think I’d be writing for artists, but I am now and it’s wonderful.

Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?

Nicki Minaj, because I admire her a lot as an artist and she’s from Trinidad and Tobago. I feel as though she would understand me a lot and also be to advise me or help me reach a larger audience.

Rihanna is also one of my top 3 artists. She is not only talented but has a giving spirit. I love her. One other person I’d say is Timbaland. He’s a fantastic producer that I’d feel super grateful to have an opportunity in the studio with.
