My name is Terrence Shingler and I am an actor.
Why I do it? I love bringing a creator’s vision of a character to life.
What do I want people to know about me? I love doing improv comedy!
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
The qualities that make me different from everyone else in the industry are my Charisma, Positive and Humble Attitude.
I’m also Hardworking and Highly Imaginative.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?
The moment I realized that I wanted to do this when I was filming a short trailer/mini-movie for my friend’s stage play.
I was on set for hours and hours and I enjoyed every moment of it. When the trailer finally came out, I had a chance to see how I looked on camera.
I looked very believable in my character and I thought to myself, “Hey, I think I could really do this” Since then, I have been having the time of my life!
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?
The biggest challenge I had to face was lacking the confidence to believe that I really be successful in this industry.
How I overcame that challenge was surrounding myself with people that truly challenge to not try to be like other actors but instead look beyond what I thought the industry was looking for and give them the best yet true version of myself in every audition that I read for.
I was encouraged to have fun with the characters – to stop overthinking and second guessing myself but instead go with what felt natural at the same time not taking away what the writer and director wanted.
