DSL DIRE STRAITS LEGACY, FEATURING FIVE FORMER MEMBERS AND WORLD-CLASS MUSICIANS, RETURN TO TOUR UNITED STATES IN SEPTEMBER
“FOR YOU” TOUR JAM-PACKED WITH DIRE STRAITS HITS
(New York, NY) – The music of roots rock icons Dire Straits will soon return to stages in the United States. All of the band’s hits can be experienced live, on-stage via the world-class contingent that is DSL Dire Straits Legacy. A celebration of the music of Grammy-Award-winning, multi-platinum-selling British rockers Dire Straits, DSL Dire Straits Legacy features original Dire Straits band member Alan Clark (piano/keyboards) and Dire Straits musicians Danny Cummings (percussion), Mel Collins (saxophone), Phil Palmer (guitar/musical director) and Jack Sonni (guitar) – along with esteemed Italian musicians Marco Caviglia (vocals/guitar), Primiano Di Biase (keyboards) and Cristiano Micalizzi (drums). Of the upcoming United States tour, DSL’s Alan Clark commented, “We do this, we play the music of Dire Straits because we love it…and we made it!” The upcoming run, dubbed the “For You” tour, is dedicated to their fans and to manager Riccardo Locatelli, who recently passed away unexpectedly.
DSL Dire Straits Legacy is a permanently evolving project. The collective prefers to stay away from such cliché titles as reunion band, yet still keeps alive the classic music of Dire Straits. The “concept show” is proudly produced by We4show – a new concept for the show. Many Dire Straits former members joined over the years, but in 2016 Alan Clark stepped in to the band’s line-up. Together with Alan Clark on stage are: Phil Palmer and Danny Cummings, both featured on Dire Straits’ “On Every Street Tour ‘91-‘92”. Also in the DSL line-up are the highly-regarded sax player Mel Collins, who was a member of Dire Straits from ’83 to ’85 and played on the famous Alchemy Live Album and the Twisting By The Pool EP and guitarist Jack Sonni, who played guitar on Brothers In Arms and toured the world with that album. The line-up is completed with esteemed Italian musicians, the guitarist/vocalist Marco Caviglia, keyboard player Primiano Di Biase and drummer Cristiano Micalizzi.
The rounded-out contingent that is DSL Dire Straits Legacy has toured the world for the past several years with sold-out shows delighting fans with such classic hits as “Sultans Of Swing,” “Money For Nothing,” “Walk Of Life,” “Romeo & Juliet” and many more. Of DSL Dire Strait’s Legacy’s live show, Italy’s Artists And Bands avowed, “Defining this as a cover band would be an unforgiveable mistake…Guaranteed entertainment and not to be missed”.
