Hello there. I go by the name, Cylencer. I’m an aspiring, emerging rap artist from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I present a very unique appearance, flow, and style of sound in my music.
I feel the vast majority of today’s rap artists sound very similar and nobody stands out or is unique anymore. That’s where I come in.
I feel hands down, I’m a breath of fresh air in the industry.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I feel I am VERY unique and different from all other rappers. My appearance for starters. Mixed black & white thus looking Hispanic. Facial tattoos also make me stand out. Most importantly, my voice, style, & flow in my music.
I feel a variety of people appreciate and like my music versus typical rappers as most rappers constantly use the “n” word, talk about women, drugs, & guns, etc… All of my music includes NONE of the above.
Therefore people who enjoy rap, but not the typical “today’s style of rap” actually enjoy mine due to how different it is.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
When I simply let loose and really started grinding, investing money and time into social media promo, lots of money into hiring a videographer to have professional music videos made. Growing a fan base on social media.
I’m actually in preparations of getting ready to fly across the country to Las Vegas Nevada to attend a music event specifically for upcoming artists to meet VIPs such as A&R’s, executives, successful producers, record label representatives, etc.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
Being discovered. It’s very simple. Without connections in the music industry, and starting completely from scratch as I did, it’s the most difficult thing in the world to accomplish, getting discovered. Standing out.
Getting in front of the eyes of people who have connections and the power to get your foot in the door. Even with the help of social media, it’s very hard to become noticed with the amount of competition.
There are millions of others on social media trying to do the exact same thing, so without solid connections, it’s very hard to get your foot in the door.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
I don’t have 3 specific people as I don’t have any ideas or know anybody specifically who have the connections I need, but I would love to meet anybody who really has to pull in the industry such as an A&R, a well-known label representative, anyone who would hear my music, absolutely love it and have the power to offer me a life-changing opportunity.
