Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?
My name is Lester Greene and they call me “The Connector.” I act, rap, write, produce movies/music and I host “The Lester Greene Talk Show.” I love creating art that touches people’s lives. My goal is to heal people through acts of kindness.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
It’s rare when someone wants to see you win. I want to see everybody win. If I can help you, I will. I am big on spreading positive energy, and surrounding myself with good people.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.
I worked with Vanzil Burke on a television show called “Heaux Phase.” I played Detective Roland. I just remember being on set and feeling like I belonged. I was surrounded by all of those cameras and lights – and I felt at home. I wasn’t nervous. I was in my element. I look forward to experiencing that feeling again. Many thanks to Crystal T. What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?
I think losing my mother was very difficult. I did everything with her. She was my rock. I miss talking to her. She was such a nice person and I learned a lot from her. She may be gone but I carry her everywhere, especially if I need to channel her memory through my art. Her memory can make me happy or sad. If the director needs a certain emotion, I can think of my mom to get me there. I love you, mom.
Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?
Tyler Perry – This man has created his own world. He makes his own moves and he is someone I can learn from. I love what he stands for and I see myself in him.
Jason Bateman – This man is pure class. He has been acting, producing and directing for so many years. He doesn’t get caught up in the gossip. He doesn’t have any sex scandals attached to his name. He just works hard and puts his family first. I can learn from someone like him. By the way, I mentioned Jason Bateman in one of my songs featuring Torri Fixx.
Kevin Hart – I admire him because he is constantly evolving. You cannot put him in a box. He makes great career moves as an actor and a producer. He is always learning new things and getting better. He doesn’t claim to know everything. I love learning from people who are always growing.
