Music Artist Leandrea Carroll Is Stepping Into Her Own Spotlight

Please introduce yourself. What do you do? Why? What do you want people to know about you?

I’m a 19-year-old recording artist from Wilmington, NC.

I make clean rap music and I make music about real-life issues. I’ve been making music for 12 years now.

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

I have a very unique flow and the songs I create are very deep but also very catchy.

I’ve been told I sound like old-school female rappers from the ’80s but the new school version. I touch on subjects that really no female artists are talking about now of days.

I make music from my heart and I try my best to make every single song out of love.

Describe THAT moment when you realized you’re doing what you were born to do.

A lot of times I would give up on music and stop making it but I could never stop having thoughts of starting again.

Something in me would just never let me stop and that’s how I knew this was for me. The feeling I get in my heart when I create the music I create is an overwhelming feeling of love.

I also knew this was for me when so many of my supporters started to come to me and tell me stories of how my music brought them out of a bad place and they felt they had someone to relate to. I knew then that I seriously could not stop because it’s a passion to help out people.

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through and how did you grow through it?

The biggest challenge I’ve had to get through was self-doubt.

Doubting that I was good enough to do what I love and also comparing myself to other rappers and singers. I learned that being me is what sets me apart from others and staying true to myself and what I wanna do is what really matters.

I still struggle with this but now my confidence has grown and I could never let these thoughts slow me down anymore. Prayer and maturity really got me through this.

Who are the TOP 3 people you’d want to meet that could elevate your career or business? Why these specific individuals?

Definitely Lauren Hill, NF, and Hulvey. All these artists I look up to and they stay true to themselves and that’s why I would love to meet them.
