Please introduce yourself, what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.
My name is Trevor Joseph and an actor and writer. I have acted in projects associated with Lionsgate, Amazon Prime series, and more on the way. I moved to sunny California from Wisconsin 5 years ago. Basically planned it and left. I didn’t know anyone here it was just me and my dream.
What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?
I am very hardworking. I will outwork you, I don’t care if I’m against Will Smith, I will try to be better than I was yesterday. Also, a lot of people don’t like criticism, but you don’t get better without it, so I embrace notes and criticism I receive because I know it will only make me better. My passion stems from my desire to make it in the industry for my mom who was diagnosed with MS.
Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?
When I first got on to a stage on my first play. I knew I wanted to do this. The rush you get and the energy you get are unmatched. I first told my mom, she was thrilled. She supported my decision to move out to LA and go after my dreams. It has been a grind for sure. I moved to LA with nothing, so I had to start from the bottom.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face and how did you overcome it?
Probably how hard it is to make and be successful out here. A lot of people just see the glam in movies but don’t see the long hours and the roommates, and the sacrifices you have to make it. It really comes down to how much you want it. And for me, there is no other choice I will make it. I will make the impossible very possible.
