About The Healing Ritual: “We approached creating this EP like building a drip castle at the seashore, one musical drop at a time,” explains Female President. “Reflecting on the five stages of grief, the order doesn’t matter.
We aimed to fully express the rage, denial, sorrow, acceptance, and joy experienced as one navigates through the other side of heartbreak.”
“The Healing Ritual” is more than just an album; it’s a journey through emotional landscapes, embodied in music. The band’s healing process involved connecting with painters, writing poetry on dusty trails, dancing on golden shores, and pushing the boundaries of genre and perceived capabilities. They engaged in deeper conversations and built an iron-clad trust and belief in serving the songs they write.
A significant highlight of the EP is the reimagined collaboration of “II Odyssey Within Remix” with Japanese musician and composer Katsuharu Koura. This track fulfilled a lifelong dream of lead vocalist Drea to create a disco song reminiscent of the one that first made her want to sing.
